
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with United States President Donald Trump, congratulating him on the success of the historic Gaza peace plan. The two leaders also took stock of the ongoing trade negotiations between New Delhi and Washington, expressing satisfaction at the substantial progress made in recent rounds of discussions.
The leaders agreed to maintain regular communication in the coming weeks.
PM Modi, in a post on social media platform X, shared details of the conversation, stating: “Spoke to my friend, President Trump and congratulated him on the success of the historic Gaza peace plan. Also reviewed the good progress achieved in trade negotiations. Agreed to stay in close touch over the coming weeks.”
The Gaza peace plan, which has drawn global attention, is seen as a significant diplomatic breakthrough aimed at fostering long-term stability in the Middle East. India has consistently supported efforts that promote peace and security in the region, underscoring its long-standing position on dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred path to conflict resolution.
