External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated that India remains prepared to offer assistance toward efforts aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict, as reported across multiple news outlets during his ongoing diplomatic visit to Kyiv.
A Diplomatic Offer in Kyiv
During his visit to the Ukrainian capital, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar conveyed India's readiness to contribute to peace initiatives. Jaishankar emphasized that India is prepared to help bring a conclusion to the ongoing war.
According to reports, Jaishankar stated that India is ready to extend "any help" to end the war. The External Affairs Minister expressed willingness to assist "in any manner" to help resolve the conflict.
Backing Dialogue and Diplomacy
In addition to offering general assistance, the discussions in Kyiv touched upon mediation and peaceful resolutions. As per reports, Jaishankar offered mediation while firmly backing dialogue and diplomacy as the primary pathways forward.
Further contextualizing the meetings, Jaishankar directly told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that India stands ready to support ongoing peace efforts. Reinforcing this sentiment, reports highlighted his concise assurance to the Ukrainian leadership: “We are there.”
