External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has arrived to lead India’s delegation during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) High-Level Week, according to recent reports. As part of his journey to New York, Jaishankar made a stop in Switzerland, touching down at Zurich Airport.

As per reports, Jaishankar arrived in Zurich en route to New York, where he was briefed on India-Switzerland-Liechtenstein ties. The stopover marks a key diplomatic push ahead of high-level multilateral engagements in the United States.

Once in New York, Jaishankar is scheduled to lead the Indian delegation and address the General Assembly's 81st session on September 26. This year's General Assembly session also coincides with remarks from UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who stated, "We have to choose to be hopeful," as he prepares for his final General Assembly appearance. Meanwhile, broader diplomatic movements in New York include a planned meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday regarding Russia-Ukraine de-escalation efforts.
